This is UPERFECT GR14BU, a 14-inch 3K OLED portable monitor with 120 Hz refresh rate. After two weeks of using, it for gaming on my PS5 and PC handhelds like the XRG ally and Steam Deck, as well as some productivity and everything in between, I've come to this simple conclusion. OLED on a portable monitor is not just a spec upgrade; it is a completely different experience.

Well, in this. I'm gonna show you how this portal monitor holds up in gaming on a console to your favorite gaming handhelds. I'm also gonna talk about the specs and the display, who exactly I think this is for, and whether it's worth the price tag, and how it stacks up against cheaper alternatives.

Build Quality

UPERFECT GR14BU Gaming Monitor

The first thing you notice when you unbox this device is the build. The monitor has aluminum all over it, clean black finish, no logos on the front whatsoever, which I absolutely love. It's 7 millimeters thin and it feels premium in a way that immediately justifies the price before you even turn it on.

Holding this thing next to my M111 inch iPad Pro, you can tell that this monitor is slightly bigger, but holding it feels just as light. And thin as the iPad. One thing that stands out straight away is the new built-in kick stand.

Previous UPERFECT monitors used a foldable cover as the stand. This one has its own dedicated kick stand that pulls straight out and holds the screen at a wide range of angles. If you're planning to use this at your desk setup regularly, UPERFECT also has an adjustable Vesa arm that mounts directly onto the UPERFECT GR14BU.

The Vesa arm is fully height and angle adjustable. Aluminum build, which turns this Pokemon monitor into a proper desk setup piece next to a micro to 2-inch MSI OLED monitor. I'll link the monitor stand in the description as well.

Display Specifications

UPERFECT GR14BU Gaming Monitor

Now, let's talk about the display on this thing because that's where this totally won me over 14 inches, 3K resolution at 2880 by 1800 with a 16 by 10 aspire ratio, which gives you slightly more vertical screen real estate than a standard 16 by 9 panel. The It comes with 242 pixels per inches, which is sharper than a 27-inch 4K monitor with 100,000 contrast ratio, 120% DCPicolor gamut, 120Hz refresh rate, and 0.1 response time.

Because this thing is OLED, you're getting true deep black. You can feel the contrast ratio the moment you play anything with shadows or dark environments. Colors on this u monitor really pop in a way that's hard to describe until you've seen it by yourself.

Eerfit has also decided to go with a glossy display, not the matte finish, which I personally really prefer. Glossy makes the colors and contrast shine way more. It enhances everything that makes OLED special. If you want the full OLED experience, glossy is the way to go.

When using this OLED display next to my M1 iPad Pro, you can really tell the difference here. The M1 iPad Pro has a great LCD display, but put it next to the UPERFECT GR14BU and the. Difference is immediate. The older blacks make the iPad panel look slightly washed out by comparison.

The UPERFECT GR14BU is physically larger, so you're getting more screen and a noticeable better image at the same time. That side-by-side comparison tells you more than any spec ever could. This screen is by far the sharpest, most vibrant display I've ever seen on any portal monitor out there.

Gaming on Handhelds

UPERFECT GR14BU Gaming Monitor

We haven't even gotten into gaming yet, which is my favorite section. So, let's talk about it. Gaming is where the UPERFECT GR14BU really shows its worth.

I've been gaming on it with my Xbox RG ally, my Steam Deck, and my PS5 for two weeks now. You can plug either handheld via USB-C and you're suddenly experiencing 3K OLED gaming on your handheld device. The difference gaming on this versus the handheld inbuilt screen is night and day.

OLED handles fast motion in a way IPS and LCD just can't match. The 0.1 millisecond response time. Means that no ghosting, no blur, no trailing on fast movement. In darker games or vibrant games with a lot of contrast, the true blacks make the image look cinematic.

Games like Hades 2 and Hollow Night looks amazing on the OLED screen. The contrast between colors is simply insane in a way you don't get on a standard panel. If that isn't enough, this monitor also has a touch screen.

For handheld gaming, that's a very useful feature that a lot of other. The portal monitor just doesn't offer. Navigating Steam OS on the Steam deck or the RG Xpo Ai interface becomes way more intuitive when you can tap directly on the screen rather than using the controls to navigate menus.

It's a small thing, but once you've used it, you're really gonna miss it when it's not on a portable monitor. Then there's gaming on the PS5. The monitor connects via the included mini-HDMI cable, and you're up instantly.

PS5 Gaming Experience

UPERFECT GR14BU Gaming Monitor

HDR content on. The PS5 true OLED panel is something else. Colors are richer, dark scenes are dramatically more atmospheric, and the 120 Hz support makes compatible games feel impossibly smooth.

I've used bigger, more expensive screens for my PS5, and this 14-inch portable monitor gave me a better image quality than some of those bigger screens. Putting this thing next to something like the Arzopa Z3 FC, which is a 16-inch IPS. Port monitor really highlights the difference in screen quality when it comes to OLED versus LCD.

The Arzopa is not a bad portal monitor at all. It looks great in fact, but next to the OLED of the GR14BU, it honestly falls a bit short for any real gamer out there. For gaming, this is really the move.

OLED at 120 Hz on a portable monitor is seriously next level. After two weeks on the UPERFECT GR14BU, going back to. An IPS screen for gaming feels like a downgrade. That's how you know you have a near perfect OLED gaming monitor.

Productivity Use

UPERFECT GR14BU Gaming Monitor

Now, I want to preface that this is mainly a gaming monitor. It is marketed as such, but using it paired with my M4 Mac Mini and the M1 iPad Pro for productivity has genuinely surprised me. It's a beautiful screen to work on.

Text is razor sharp at 242 PPI. The 16 by 10 as ratio gives you slightly more. Vertical space for documents and browser windows, and the color accuracy at 1 to 20% DCIP 3 is excellent.

Paired with the MSI 32-inch OLED as a secondary screen, the color profile on the UPERFECT GR14BU sits close enough to my main OLED monitor that working across both scenes doesn't feel jarring at all. If productivity is your primary use case, if you're mainly writing, browsing, doing admin work, the price. Tag might be a bit harder to justify, maybe.

OLED does make everything look better, but for pure productivity work, a slightly cheaper IPS panel can get the job done at a fraction of the price. This thing is a gaming monitor first. Everything else is a very nice bonus.

Price Comparison

Now finally, let's talk about money and the price tag. You see, the UPERFECT GR14BU retails normally at $629 USD, but it's currently going. For 399. The real question is how it stacks up against something like the Arzopa Z3FC that costs around $145 USD.

That price gap deserves its own conversation. The thing is, when you get this UPERFECT monitor, you're not paying for slightly better specs, you're paying more to move into a completely different tier of image quality.

OLED is by far not a marginal upgrade over LCD. It is a generational leap in display. Quality, true blacks, infinite contrast that LCD or other display types can't really match at all, and that's basically what you're buying when you buy this monitor.

Final Verdict

UPERFECT GR14BU Gaming Monitor

If you're a gamer, if you play on a handheld, a console, or you want a portable screen specifically for gaming, the UPERFECT GR14BU is totally worth it. OLED at 120 Hz changes how games look and feel in a way you will notice every single time you sit down to play.

If you're Primarily productivity focused and gaming is more occasional, you might be better off getting a cheaper, more reasonable IPS panel than this one right here. For instance, there are Zopa Z3 FC, which is a very good portal monitor at $145.

But once again, if gaming is your main thing and productivity comes secondary to that, or you're like me who just love having top quality devices, then the UPERFECT GR14BU is honestly the real deal. It's a bit funny because all A portable monitor used to feel like a luxury nobody could justify.

But at 399, the UPERFECT GR14BU makes it feel like the obvious choice, especially if you know what you're buying a portable monitor for.
