UPERFECT GR19BU QLED 144Hz Gaming Monitor Reviewed by Badger DIY

This might be one of the craziest portable QLED monitors I've ever been able to get my hands on. 144 Hz, 2160p QLED panel, and once you see this thing in person, it's definitely impressive. But before we get started, I'd want to mention that the UPERFECT team can send this unit over for review.

Introduction to the UPERFECT GR19BU

As always, no money exchanged hands, and all opinions expressed in this video are entirely my own. In today's video, we're going to be taking a look at the UPERFECT GR19BU. Quite a few numbers and letters there, but what I can tell you is that what we got here is a 19-inch 4K ultra-HD portable gaming monitor that will do 144 Hz at 2160P.

What's Included Inside the Box

And inside the box, we're going to get pretty much everything you need to get this thing up and running. We get the user manual, two USB-C cables, one for power and one for video output, an HDMI cable, a 30-watt USB-C power adapter. And a couple of mounting screws.

When it comes to IO we got also a few options here. On the left-hand side, we got two full featured USB-C ports which can handle both audio and video, alongside a mini-HDMI port for connecting something like a PC, handheld, or games console. And moving over to the right-hand side, we got a 3.5-millimeter audio jack, a micro-USB OTG port for connecting peripherals, and all of ours.

Controls for power, brightness, volume, and navigating the on-screen menu. We also got a pair of built-in speakers along the bottom and around the back there's an integrated kick stand so we can use the monitor pretty much anywhere without needing a separate stand. Overall, it's a really clean design.

The bezels are relatively thin, and considering this is a nineteen-inch portable display, the whole thing still feels surprisingly compact. Now UPERFECT was also kind enough to send over a few extra accessories to complete the portable setup. We got this protective sleeve for the monitor which should keep it protected while traveling, and they also sent over a full size backpack with plenty of room for the monitor, cables, and all our accessories, so we can basically pack up the entire setup and take it with us.

And finally, UPERFECT also send over this adjustable magnetic stand. It's made from metal, feels really solid, and we got plenty of adjustment for both of the height and viewing angle. The base can also rotate for a full 360 degrees, so we can easily swivel the entire monitor around without having to move the stand itself.

But probably my favorite part is how this monitor actually attaches. Assembly here is super easy and only takes a minute. Place the metal mounting plate on the back of the monitor, security using the 4 included screws and.

Just like that, it simply snaps into place magnetically, and once it's mounted, our portable monitor starts to look and feel much more like a traditional desktop set up. We can adjust the height, change the viewing angle, rotate the display, and if you need to take the monitor somewhere, it simply pulls straight back off. Really simple, but it works incredibly well.

But when it comes to the overall picture quality, this is where the monitor really impressed me. I own a couple of older portable monitors and I've been getting by with them just fine over the last few years, but as soon as I connected this one of my PC ran a couple. Of tests here and there and start using it, I could definitely tell a huge difference.

Everything looks incredibly sharp, colors really pop, and overall, the image just looks fantastic, and a lot of that really comes to the panel UPERFECT is using here. We're working with a 19-inch CLED panel with a native resolution of 3840 by 2160, so we're getting a full 4K on this relatively small display. And because we're packing all of those pixels into just 19 inches, everything looks incredibly sharp.

Colors are vibrant, the blacks are nice and deep, and we also got a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, HDR support and AMD free sync. Brightness is rated at 4. we got 1200 to 1 contrast ratio, a 9-millisecond response time, and UPERFECT rates the display at 107.8% DC3. So, on paper we got pretty much everything with one from a high-end portable gaming monitor.

And obviously specs only tell us so much once you actually start using this thing, especially for gaming, that 4K QLED panel really starts to make sense. I also run a couple more tests here, and being a portable monitor, we're definitely not limited to using this thing with the desktop PC. I tested with a few different handhelds including my Steam Deck and a couple of Android gaming handhelds, and everything worked exactly as expected.

Simply connect your handheld to the monitor of a USB-C and E. Immediately got your games up on a much bigger 19-inch display, and honestly, this is probably one of my favorite use cases for something like this. Another controller, and you basically turn your handheld into a little portable console setup.

Handheld Gaming

Obviously, you're not buying something like this because your handheld is going to run every game at 4K or 144 Hz. It's about having that much bigger, really nice looking display available wherever you want it, while still being able to pack the whole setup away afterwards. And because we got HDMI alongside USB-C we're not limited to handheld either.

There's plenty of flexibility here depending on what you want to connect. But for me, this is still a gaming monitor, so let's get back over the PC and actually do some gaming. No, I'm personally not a big e-Sports player, so I don't really need to go any higher than 144 Hz.

PC Gaming and High Refresh Rate Performance

But you can still enjoy games like Fortnite, Valorant, or Counter-Strike on this thing, and 144 Hz is already plenty fast for the type of gaming I normally do. For me though, it's mostly single player and co op games, and I really appreciate having a good look in this play, and this thing definitely does it for me. Here is For Horizon 6, and this is exactly the type of game where this QED panel really shines.

FreeSync and Smooth Gameplay

The colors look vibrant, everything is incredibly sharp thanks to that 4K resolution, and the 144 Hz refresh rate makes everything feel really smooth while you're driving around. We're also getting free sync support, so as long as you're using compatible hardware, the monitor can match its refresh rate to the frame rate and help reduce screen tearing. And even though it's obviously isn't an OLED panel, I'm actually pretty impressed with the contrast and the black levels here.

Darker areas still have plenty of detail while brighter colors really pop, and honestly, at 19 inches, 4K might sound a little bit excessive, but sitting this close to the display, it looks incredibly crisp. Overall, I really enjoy using the UPERFECT GR19BU. The 4K QLED panel looks fantastic.

A 144 Hz is more than enough for the type of gaming I do, and I really like the flexibility of being able to use it with my PC, handhelds, or pretty much anything else I want to connect. But that's it for this one. Do let me know down in the comments what do you think about this monitor.
